Powerball tickets worth $150K, $50K bought in N.J. over the weekend

A pair of third-prize Powerball tickets were sold in New Jersey for Saturday’s drawing.

One ticket — worth $150,000 because it was purchased with the Powerball for an extra $1 — was bought at Super Fresh on Lyons Avenue in Irvington, Essex County, the New Jersey Lottery said.

A $50,000 ticket was bought at QuickChek on Route 206 in Hillsborough, Somerset County.

Both tickets matched four numbers plus the Powerball.

No one across the country won Saturday’s $167 million jackpot or Monday’s $177 million top prize.

Saturday’s winning numbers were: 12, 18, 28, 48 and 52. The Powerball drawn was 5 with a Power Play of 3X.

A second-prize, $1 million ticket was sold for Monday’s drawing in Oregon. It matched five numbers but not the Powerball.

Monday’s winning numbers were: 13, 47, 52, 64 and 67. The Powerball drawn was 25 with a Power Play of 2X.

Wednesday’s Powerball jackpot is worth an estimated $189 million with a cash option of $83.1 million.

The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million.

The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.

Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
