The Powerball jackpot for Saturday’s lottery drawing has climbed to an estimated $163 million, with a cash option of $71.7 million.
The winning numbers were: 12, 18, 28, 48, 52. Powerball: 5. Power Play 3X.
No one across the country hit Wednesday’s $147 million jackpot. Three second-prize, $1 million tickets were bought — one each in Kansas, New Hampshire and Texas.
In New Jersey, no one won more than $200 with a single $2 ticket on Wednesday.
Wednesday’s winning numbers were: 9, 29, 31, 34 and 43. The Powerball drawn was 2, with a Power Play of 2X.
In addition, no one won Wednesday’s secondary $10 million Double Play jackpot, which costs an extra $1. Those winning numbers were: 4, 9, 21, 37 and 56. The Double Play number drawn was: 2.
The odds of hitting the Powerball jackpot are more than 292 million to 1. A player who buys a ticket has about a 1 in 11,688,053 chance to match five numbers but not the Powerball and win a second-prize of at least $1 million.
The odds of winning a third prize of at least $50,000 are 913,129 to 1.
Powerball drawings are held each Monday, Wednesday and Saturday in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
Tuesday’s Mega Millions jackpot is worth an estimated $173 million, with a cash option of $75.7 million.
