Over half of the state saw the number of newly listed homes increase in April compared to the same time last year, according to data from Realtor.com.
A total of 13 counties saw more homes hit the market last month. Sussex County saw the largest increase in newly listed homes, with 272, representing a jump of over 27%.
Camden and Essex counties followed with increases of 20.46% and 15.10%, respectively.
Atlantic County, which had 376 newly listed homes in April, saw the largest dip at 8.74%.
According to a recent Redfin report, nationwide housing stock hit a five-year high.
“A lot of people are selling their homes and downsizing,” said Meme Loggins, a Redfin agent based in Portland, Oregon, said in the report. “They’re worried about the economy.”
