A third teenager has died from injuries after a vehicle crashed into a tree early Friday in Jackson Township, Police Chief Matthew Kunz said Sunday.
The crash occurred around 4:39 a.m. near North Hope Chapel Road and New Central Avenue when the driver lost control and hit a tree, authorities said.
A passing motorist called 911.
The driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.
Three other teens were taken to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township, where the third victim was later pronounced dead, police said.
All five people in the vehicle were teenagers. Authorities have not released their names or ages.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
