Two people were killed and three others injured Friday morning in Jackson when a driver veered off the road and struck a tree, authorities said.
The crash occurred at 4:39 a.m. near the intersection of North Hope Chapel Road and New Central Avenue, Jackson police said.
A driver and one passenger were pronounced dead at 5:26 a.m.
Three other passengers were brought to Jersey Shore University Medical Center in Neptune Township, Chief Matthew Kunz said. An update on their conditions wasn’t immediately available.
A passing driver called 911.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
