The hunt for America’s most talented performers is on once again.

Season 20 of “America’s Got Talent” premieres on NBC on Tuesday, May 27, at 8 p.m. ET. According to the episode description, the two-hour premiere will feature a magician, “a danger act,” and more performers’ audtions.

Howie Mandel, Sofía Vergara, and Simon Cowell will all return as judges, as will Mel B, who last appeared on the show during season 13 in 2018. The Spice Girls alum will replace Heidi Klum, who served as an “AGT” judge for seasons 8-13.

The talent competition show features singers, dancers, magicians, stunt performers, comedians, and other types of artists and entertainers. Contestants must impress the judges, and eventually the viewers, who vote for their favorite performers once the live shows begin.

To commemorate nearly two decades of “AGT,” season 20 will give viewers more behind-the-scenes content than ever before.

“We have [traditionally] shown about two-thirds of what really happens on the day. There’s an awful lot of stuff going on behind the scenes — what a contestant is going through, what it’s like to be in the audience — which you don’t see,” Cowell told TVInsider. “[Season 20 is] about the closest [viewers have gotten] to being in my chair in all the years I’ve done it.”

Terry Crews, who has hosted “AGT” since 2019, told Newsweek that season 20 has “a brand new format.”

“There’s been kind of a makeover on our 20th season where we have done a lot more behind the scenes,” Crews teased. “I’m really excited for everyone to see this because it’s a way of seeing ‘AGT’ like you’ve never seen it before.”

Mandel, meanwhile, told TVInsider that this season’s talent pool is on another level.

“[The] performers are hitting harder than they’ve ever hit. Season 20 is the highest bar of talent that we have ever had on ‘America’s Got Talent,’” Mandel said.

“America’s Got Talent” airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET. Episodes are available to stream on Peacock the day after they air.
