Rapper Rod Wave was recently arrested on a slew of charges including aggravated assault, possession of a firearm and more.
The musician was taken into custody Tuesday, according to Pitchfork, in Fulton County, Ga. on 14 charges that stemmed from an alleged altercation in April in which firearms were discharged at Rod Wave‘s residence.
Rod Wave, born Rodarius Marcell Green, is now facing charges of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm, pointing a firearm at another person, reckless conduct, criminal damage to property, obstruction of law enforcement, evidence tampering, conspiracy to commit a felony and simple assault. He was released from custody Tuesday after posting a $50,000 bond.
The arrest stemmed from an April incident where Rod Wave and his realtors returned to his home after a burglary. Upon arrival, the rapper and his associates got into a verbal dispute that led to a semiautomatic pistol being fired 14 times. Eleven of those rounds struck the Mercedes G Wagon of one of his associates, another hit Rod Wave‘s own Rolls-Royce, one bullet punctured the wall of Rod Wave‘s residence and the final round has not been located.
“There is no truth to these charges,” attorneys Drew Findling and Marissa Goldberg told Pitchfork. “Rod Green was a victim of a burglary and committed no crimes. How he was even charged as a result of this situation is incomprehensible. This will absolutely be resolved favorably to Mr. Green.”
The “Sinners” rapper, 26, was previously arrested in April of 2024 for weapons possession in Florida and in 2022 for felony charge of battery by strangulation in Florida.
It is unclear when the musician will have to return to court as an investigation into the incident is currently ongoing.
