The joint tour with Bullet For My Valentine and Trivium has fallen apart and is winding down with only four North American tour dates remaining.
Both metal bands announced they would be going on the “The Poison Ascendancy Tour” in a joint press conference, which was supposed to run until December 2025. The year-long trek also served as a 20th anniversary celebration of Bullet For My Valentine’s “The Poison” and Trivium’s “Ascendancy.” Both bands played each of the albums in full with each show.
So, what happened? There hasn’t been an official announcement yet, but Trivium bassist/vocalist Paolo Gregoletto lays the blame at the feet of Bullet For My Valentine’s vocalist/guitarist Matt Tuck on a recent stream.
“Matt Tuck didn’t want to do it, after we had planned it, after stuff was already in the works — don’t know why,“ said Gregoletto. “I think it would have been amazing. I think “The Poison” is a great album. I think the two records pair very well together. And I think it would have been nice to give everyone around the world a chance to see the two together. But we are going to do North America on our own with other bands. And we will have a lot of special surprises, just because we will [now] have more time to do stuff, so, that’s what it is.”
Gregoletto also made a separate post on TikTok indicating members of Bullet For My Valentine were not pleased with the comments during the live stream.
The tour will end on Sunday at the Red Hat Amphitheater in Raleigh, North Carolina.
