N.J. woman admits illegally distributing over 4,000 oxycodone pills

An Essex County woman admitted to illegally possessing and distributing opioids, including over 4,000 pills of oxycodone, officials with the U.S. Attorney’s Office said.

Danielle Molinari, 51, of Bloomfield pleaded guilty to counts of drug conspiracy, distribution and possession of oxycodone.

Molinari was accused of conspiring to obtain medically unnecessary prescriptions between February 2019 and March 2023 and then selling the prescriptions illegally, officials said.

Molinari was accused of distributing about 4,665 oxycodone pills over the four years authorities claim she participated in the conspiracy, officials said.

Authorities did not release additional details of the investigation.

Molinari’s sentencing is scheduled for Nov. 4.

“Danielle’s [Molinari] case is a prime example of the crossroads of opioid addiction and the illegal sale of the same pills she was addicted to,” Molinari’s attorney, Joel Silberman said. “Danielle has accepted responsibility for her conduct and spent the past year dedicated to her own self care and recovery. Danielle looks forward to putting this dark period of her life behind her.”
