N.J. police rescue 7 ducklings trapped in storm drain

Police in Vineland are credited with rescuing some lucky ducklings.

A mother duck recently lost some of her ducklings in the storm drain on Brewster Road in front of Brewster Liquors, according to a report on the police department’s Facebook page.

Officers responded and found the mother duck “excitedly pacing back and forth on top of the storm drain cover.”

The officers also found seven ducklings swimming around about eight feet below the road.

Officers removed the storm drain cover and assisted all but one feisty duckling out of the deep hole.

The last one required some additional equipment to capture it.

Police reported they were able to locate the rest of the family swimming in a nearby lake, and they were reunited.
