National Hamburger Day 2025: How to get free food and deals from Burger King, Wendy’s, more

National Hamburger Day falls on Wednesday, May 28 this year.

To get into the holiday spirit, several chains and franchises are offering free food and deals on Tuesday, according to USA Today, The Krazy Koupon Lady and the chains themselves.

Here are some of the deals and freebies you can get on and around May 28.

National Hamburger Day Deals & Freebies

Buffalo Wild Wings: Get half off any burger, including the All-American Cheeseburger, Triple Bacon Cheeseburger and others, when you order online for takeout or delivery on May 28. Customers must use promo code GOBURGER at checkout.

Burger King: Royal Perks members can get a free hamburger with any online or in-app purchase of $1 or more on May 28.

Checkers & Rally’s: From now through May 29, get the Cheese Double combo for $3.

Dairy Queen: Rewards members can buy one Signature Stackburger, including Backyard Bacon Ranch, Bacon Cheese Deluxe, FlameThrower, Cheese Deluxe and Original Cheeseburgers, and get a second for 99 cents. The offer is valid in-app and at select DQ Grill & Chill locations from May 26 - June 1.

Friendly’s: New Friendly’s rewards members, who have just signed up and downloaded the app, can get a free Founder’s Burger from now through May 31. You can redeem the free burger reward within 30 days of signing up.

McCormick & Schmick’s: Get a smash burger and draft beer for $15 all day on May 28. You can double your meat for an extra $4 and upgrade to a craft beer for $1.

Shake Shack: On May 28, get a free ShackBurger with a $10 or more purchase with the promo code BURGERMONTH online or in-app.

Shannon Rose Irish Pubs: Get burgers for $9.99 burgers all day long. This includes all burgers from the deep fried murder burger to the southwest turkey burger.

Smashburger: On May 28, get any single burger for $5.28 using the code JUST528 in-store, online or through the app.

TGI Fridays: Get a Big Queso Energy Burger with seasoned fries for $10. The discount drops the price from its regular cost of $16.39. This offer is valid May 28 for dine-in only, limit one per customer.

Wayback Burger: Get $5 Classic Burgers on May 28. This offer is valid online and in-store, but not with third-party delivery services.

Wendy’s: Rewards members can get 1 cent Jr. Bacon Cheeseburgers with any in-app purchase from now through June 1.

White Castle: Get six White Castle sliders for $4. There is no limit to how many sliders you can purchase, but they must be purchased in bundles of six. This offer is valid in-store, online and in the app.
