Beloved Hollywood actor Denzel Washington was recently caught in a heated exchange with a photographer at the Cannes Film Festival.
The movie icon was seen arguing with a red carpet photographer at the premiere of his upcoming film “Highest 2 Lowest” on Monday.
The exchange, which was caught on camera, began when a photographer grabbed Washington by his arm in an attempt to get the actor’s attention.
Washington, 70, then turned to the smiling cameraman and pointed his finger and aired a stern warning to stop grabbing him.
It appeared that Washington said “don’t ever put your hands on me again” to the photographer.
The photographer seemingly nodded in understanding but grabbed Washington once again as soon as the actor turned away.
The “American Gangster” actor quickly pulled his arm away and aggressively reiterated his sentiment of not wanting to be grabbed.
“Stop it,” Washington appeared to say repeatedly before walking away.
Washington did not comment on the situation with photographers.
The two-time Oscar-winner received a surprise Honorary Palme d’Or, the Cannes Film Festival’s highest honor, shortly after the interaction.
“Highest 2 Lowest” director Spike Lee presented the award to Washington.
“This is a total surprise for me, so I’m a little emotional, but from the bottom of my heart, I thank you all. It was a great opportunity to collaborate with my brother once again — brother from another mother, Spike,” Washington said during his acceptance speech
“Highest 2 Lowest” — starring Washington, A$AP Rocky, Jeffery Wright, Dean Winters and more — will one in theaters in August.
