“Landman” fans rejoice, the Paramount+ series has officially been renewed for season 2.
The show stars Billy Bob Thornton as Tommy Norris, a petroleum Landman and operations VP at the fictional oil company M-Tex.
During season 1, which premiered in November 2024, Tommy deals with a cartel, a rebellious teenage daughter (Michelle Randolph), a widow (Paulina Chávez) whose husband died in an oil rig explosion, and a flirty ex-wife (Ali Larter).
Landman’s debut season was a boon for Paramount+, with the premiere episode bringing in 35 million viewers. That makes “Landman” the most-watched global premiere of any series in Paramount+ history
“’Landman’ was one of the biggest shows of the year because of [series creator] Taylor Sheridan’s unique ability to tap into the cultural zeitgeist, harnessing the Neo-western themes of rugged individualism, ambition, and working-class struggles set against contemporary debates around energy, climate change, and economic growth,” Chris McCarthy, the president and CEO of Showtime/MTV Entertainment Studios, said in a press release.
Along with Thornton, Randolph, and Larter, season 1 of “Landman” starred Jon Hamm (Monty Miller), Demi Moore (Cami Miller), Jacob Lofland (Cooper Norris), and Kayla Wallace (Rebecca Falcone). Nearly all the cast members have expressed interest in returning for season 2.

“I’m excited for us to start the second [season], which will be at the beginning of next year,” Moore said at a Cannes Film Festival event in May 2024, per Deadline.
The official announcement about “Landman” season 2 comes after an open casting call accidentally leaked the news.
Legacy Casting posted a call for 6-8 month old baby boys for “Landman season 2” earlier this month.
“These are non-speaking roles but are highly featured and important to the show. We’re ideally looking for twin Latino boys around 6 months old but we’ll consider girls as well,” the post read, nothing that the “Landman” producton team was looking for a baby or babies to play Ariana’s (Chávez) son.
When is ‘Landman’ season 2 coming out?
While no official season 2 release date has been announced, the casting call for Ariana’s son suggests that production is already underway. That means “Landman” could return in late 2025 or early 2026.
Season 1 of “Landman” is available to stream on Paramount+.
