A “Landman” casting update just provided some insight into what viewers can expect from season 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Demi Moore’s name will appear second in the season 2 credits, directly after “Landman” leading man Billy Bob Thornton. During season 1, her name appeared second to last.

Warning: spoilers ahead for season 1 of “Landman.”

The change suggests that Moore will play a bigger role in the upcoming season of “Landman.” Many fans were frustrated with the Oscar nominee being underutilized during season 1. As Cami Miller, the wife of oil tycoon Monty Miller (Jon Hamm), Moore took a backseat to the show’s central action.

Viewers got their first inclination that Cami might become a bigger character when Monty died during the season 1 finale. During a January interview with Variety, “Landman” cocreator Chritian Wallace hinted at what the death could mean for Cami.

“When you take one major player off the board, it opens up opportunities for other players,” he said. “There is a lot more story left to tell with Cami. [Cocreator] Taylor [Sheridan] has big plans, that’s all I’m going to say.”

Paramount+ announced on Wednesday, April 2, that production is officially underway in Texas for season 2 of “Landman.”

“Landman” debuted in November 2024, setting new records for Paramount+. The premiere episode had 35 million global streaming viewers, making it the most-watched premiere in the streaming platform’s history.

Thornton earned a Golden Globe nomination for Best Actor in a Drama Series for his portrayal of Tommy, a Landman and Operations VP at M-Tex Oil.

Season 1 of “Landman” is available to stream on Paramount+.
