Restaurant partners have formed plans to transform a former real estate office on Long Beach Island, New Jersey, into the shore's newest family friendly eatery.Tony Marinho, provided

Owners of a restaurant on Long Beach Island agreed to scale down plans for a second location after residents raised concerns it would increase traffic and cause parking problems.

HCH, to be located at a former real estate office at 8103 Long Beach Boulevard, remains on track to open next summer after getting approved by the Harvey Cedars Land Use Board, said Tony Marinho, a hospitality consultant hired by the restaurant’s owners.

The approval came after the owners eliminated plans for an outdoor picnic and bar area, named “Harvey’s Yard,” and reduced seating from 132 to 88 to reduce traffic and parking demands.

Marinho’s clients opened their first restaurant in the borough, Azzurri Italian Cucina, last year. The restaurant, which is also along Long Beach Boulevard, features a mostly Italian-American menu.
