It’s Memorial Day weekend, and in New Jersey that can only mean one thing: the return of beach badges.
The majority of New Jersey’s ocean beaches require beach badges to get on the stand, starting Memorial Day weekend. But there are still a few free beaches at the Jersey Shore. (See the full list of badge pricing below.)
Most preseason sales have wrapped up. But, depending where you want to lay your towel, it’s not too late to get a deal. Some towns run their preseason sales through June 15.
Most New Jersey beaches require paid badges or tags, with prices ranging from $3.50 for a daily pass to $200 for a season pass.
More than a dozen beaches offer free entry to veterans, and many have discount options for seniors and those with disabilities. Entrance is usually free for young children.
