Rob Refsnyder is sick of losing.

After the Red Sox fell 3-2 to the Brewers on Monday, the outfielder did not hold back when addressing his team’s three-game losing streak and 10-14 record in May.

“I’m tired of losing,” Refsnyder said, via MLB on FOX. “I’m tired of losing close games. We just need to figure it out and win some games.”

“It’s disappointing that we can’t come through for him,” Refsnyder added. “We just need to figure it out. ... We’re not getting the job done. It’s not for a lack of effort, work ethic, or game planning. We’re not doing it. We suck right now. We gotta be better.”

The Red Sox are in fourth place in the AL East with a 27-29 record.

“We’ve all been in the minor leagues,” Refsnyder said. We know how to do small things (like) steal bases. ... We gotta just keep preparing and keep playing hard. I’m confident things will turn around. There’s a lot of talent here and promise, but right now, it’s just execution.”

Refsnyder, 34, has been with the Red Sox since 2022. A 2012 fifth-round pick of the Yankees, he debuted with New York in 2015. He was traded to the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2017 season in exchange for Ryan McBroom.
