Driver killed in crash after pulling out of driveway on N.J. highway, cops say

An 89-year-old driver died following a crash with an SUV Thursday on Route 70 in Burlington County, officials said.

Carol Fischer was turning onto Route 70 from a driveway when her car and a westbound SUV collided at about 11:55 a.m., State Police said.

Fischer, of Southampton, died of her injuries at an area hospital. The driver of the SUV was not hurt.

The crash near milepost 17.2 remains under investigation.
