Jaxon Motta went 2-for-3 with a triple, an RBI and two runs as second-seeded Haddon Heights held off 15th-seeded Seneca 9-6 in the first round of the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group 2 playoffs in Haddon Heights.

Richard Farruggia had two hits and two RBIs for the Garnets (15-9), who will host seventh-seeded Overbrook in the quarterfinals.

Ryan Govito added two hits, an RBI and a run and Nolan Lachall had a single, two walks, two RBIs and two runs as Haddon Heights built an 8-3 lead through three innings.

Alex Argabright went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs for Seneca (9-16).
